TRAINING & LESSONS
Rosewood Riding Lesson Program

Our Rosewood riding lesson program specializes in providing high-quality horseback riding instruction for students 18 years of age and younger. At this time, we are not accepting adult students into our lesson program, allowing us to focus fully on youth education, horsemanship, and skill development. Lessons are taught by a team of wonderful, experienced instructors who have been trained under Anna, Rosewood’s lead riding instructor. All instruction takes place on our Rosewood-owned lesson horses, ensuring consistency, safety, and a well-rounded learning experience for every rider.

To begin the process of scheduling lessons and to be connected with one of our instructors, please reach out to us directly. We look forward to welcoming you into the Rosewood program.

Anna is manager and co-owner of Rosewood Equestrian Center, and the lead riding instructor for Rosewood's lesson program. Anna grew up in Colorado and has been around horses her entire life. She has over 24 years of riding experience which includes her time spent showing in English and Western riding disciplines, competing in rodeo events including barrel racing, pole bending, flags, and trick riding. Personal accolades include 2013 World Championship Qualifier in Saddle Seat Equitation, 3X High School Equestrian Athlete awarded by the United States Equestrian Federation, and multiple State and Regional Championships in Saddle Seat and Hunt Seat Equitation Competitions.

Anna has been teaching for 12 years, and specializes in coaching children of all ages in English and Western riding disciplines, including hunter/jumper, saddleseat, trail and ranch riding, pleasure, equitation, jumping, rodeo/gymkhana events, groundwork, and general horse knowledge. During her time coaching, Anna has taken her students to higher heights in their horse journey, attending shows, gymkhanas, and 4-H events throughout the summer horse show season. Anna's lesson program provides the opportunity to join other young horsemen and horsewomen on the one of our competitive teams, including our Rosewood barrel team and/or Rosewood show team.

Anna enjoys watching the students in her program grow, and over time offers the possibility to become more involved in all aspects of the barn, including horse care and apprenticeship type positions related to training, instructing, and ranching. Especially for those clients and children who dream to have their own horse one day and/or go further in the industry, Anna enjoys assisting through every aspect of the journey, from helping parents and children understand the responsibilities and finances behind horse ownership, to finding a first horse, to walking families through first time horse ownership, and advising on any issues or questions that may come up.
Anna loves sharing the gift of horses with others, and sees the therapeutic benefit in horses and the life lessons they can teach. Anna's teaching style includes a mix of information, fun, therapeutic connection with horses, and competitive riding skills, and aims to tailor the experience to each individual client depending on their goals. Watching her students grow in their riding and horsemanship skills which translate into confidence and life skills provides Anna her greatest purpose in life.
“Horses lend us the wings we lack, and allow us to feel the wind of heaven which blows through their ears.”

Hannah started teaching at the age of 16, coaching summer camps and private lessons for all ages. She coaches English and Western riding disciplines, including jumping, rodeo/gymkhana events, groundwork, and general horse knowledge.
Hannah attended Colorado State University with a major in equine sciences. She participated in the Legends of Ranching Horse Show and Sale for two years: one year as a student on the event and sales management team, and the following year as a teachers assistant. She gained experience through her classes including equine behavior, barn management, and equine therapeutic riding for both adults and children.
Hannah’s teaching style focuses on understanding the behavior of the horse to build a solid foundation for advancement. Mixing fun with confidence and connection with the horse creates a space for students to grow their competitive skills, general horse knowledge and reach the goals they wish to achieve.
Hannah loves watching her students advance while a part of the Rosewood lesson program, as well as in their future endeavors.
Caroline is a passionate and knowledgeable riding instructor with 7 years of riding experience across multiple disciplines. She has been barrel racing and competing with the Rosewood barrel racing team for 3 years. She has a deep appreciation and love for all things rodeo and horses, and hopes to continue her barrel racing career at the collegiate and professional level. Her love for barrel racing began in the Rosewood lesson program, which inspired her to start teaching lessons last fall. Since then, she has expanded her teaching and continues to help students of all levels grow in confidence, skill, and horsemanship.
Caroline offers structured, goal-oriented, and personalized lessons, specializing in western riding disciplines such as barrel racing, pole bending, and other gymkhana events, as well as foundational riding skills for all riding levels. Each lesson emphasizes safety, proper horsemanship, and student progress in a positive, low-pressure environment. With her energy, encouragement, and genuine passion for horses, Caroline helps each student build skill, trust, and confidence—both on and off the horse.
“There are many wonderful places in the world, but one of my favorite places is on the back of my horse.” -Rolf Kopfle
